These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of TheHousingCalc, accessible at thehousingcalc.com (the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Educational use only
All calculators, content, and information on TheHousingCalc are provided for general educational and informational purposes only. Nothing on this site constitutes financial, legal, tax, or investment advice. You should always consult a licensed financial advisor, tax professional, real estate agent, or attorney before making decisions related to your finances or real estate. We make no representation or warranty regarding the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of calculator results for your individual circumstances.
2. Calculator results are estimates
The numbers our calculators produce are estimates based on the inputs you provide and the assumptions documented on each calculator page. Actual mortgage offers, property tax bills, closing costs, insurance premiums, and other financial outcomes may differ — sometimes significantly — from our estimates due to factors including your specific credit profile, lender policies, local tax assessments, and current market conditions.
3. Data sources
Property tax rates referenced on the Service are drawn from publicly available data published by the Tax Foundation, the U.S. Census Bureau, and similar authoritative sources. Median home prices reference data published by Zillow, Redfin, and similar real estate data providers. Data is refreshed periodically but may not reflect the most current values available from the original source. Refer to the original data providers for the most up-to-date figures.
4. Your data and privacy
All calculator inputs are processed entirely in your browser. We do not transmit, store, sell, or share the financial information you enter into our calculators. Aggregate site usage data (page views, device type, country) is collected via Google Analytics for the purpose of improving the Service. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
5. Intellectual property
The Service, including all content, calculator implementations, design, written explainers, code, and trademarks, is owned by TheHousingCalc and protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may use the Service for your personal, non-commercial educational purposes. Reproduction, redistribution, scraping, or republication of substantial portions of our content without written permission is prohibited.
6. Third-party links and advertising
The Service may include links to third-party websites and may display advertising from third-party networks (including Google AdSense). We do not control and are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of third-party sites. Including a link does not constitute endorsement. Advertising content is selected and served by ad networks, not by TheHousingCalc.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TheHousingCalc and its owners, operators, and contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to financial loss, arising from your use of the Service or reliance on its calculators or content. The Service is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind.

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The most current version will always be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction in the United States.
